Make sure you have practiced for the part if possible. Be open for anything. Most importantly, you must be ready for film auditions! Bring all of your head-shots; resume or portfolio, be confident and decent and don't come off as vain or sloppy. Get to acting auditions early! This is urgent because, as the old saying goes; "The early bird gets the worm".
If you're serious about film auditions; they are your best friend. You can have fun while learning. Just open your eyes and listen to what's going on around you. Take something positive away from the experience, even if you don't get the break.
If you mess up a line DO NOT start over! This is a reflection of your professional maturity. If you did mess up it is in all likelihood not as bad as you think! If you are assured with your talents, a simple mistake here and there at film auditions won’t sway the director too much. Just as long as you have self-confidence!
So, let’s say you have passed your film auditions your all! Now you get to perform. This will be a tremendous experience because the hiring or, casting director will have seen you in action. In your performance you must repeat your audition piece the way did for the casting directors verbatim and, of course, you must stay within the time limit. Ne'er in your life will the time move more quickly. If they give you eight minutes, it will seem like four.
Good Luck, and "Break a leg"!
